Zenit – Maccabi: forecast and rate. Petersburgers will overcome guests from Israel

The St. Petersburg club successfully spent a tight calendar period last week, winning two consecutive away matches. But at home, things began to take shape not very well. After five victories in six home games, Zenit have lost the past two battles, capitulating to Fenerbahce and Crvena Zvezda. Nevertheless, Petersburgers continue to instill fear and horror on everyone with their defense, which is the best in the Euroleague. On average, Zenit concedes 71.6 points per match. In home matches, the indicator is similar. Note that in all five victorious meetings at home, the difference in the score was not less than four points, but, on the other hand, only once “Zenith” was marked by a defeat. If we take the away matches, then since the beginning of the season, Zenit won only once with a difference of less than 4 points.

The Israeli club is going through hard times. “Maccabi” have lost six matches in a row, and away can not win five battles in a row. Moreover, within a series of six defeats five times, the score difference was at least 5 points. The Israelis have serious problems in defense, as in four of the last six matches the team conceded by 90 points. With such a defense it will be very difficult to resist “Zenith”, especially since the attack does not quite shine on the road. In half of the eight away battles Maccabi failed to score more than 74 points.

In this meeting, the bet is more on the victory of “Zenith”, which, after successful away matches, may well interrupt a mini-streak of home defeats, but “Maccabi” with its away performance does not give reason to hope for an interruption in the series of failures. The leaders of “Zenith” are now in good condition, so only some kind of sensational awakening of an opponent can puzzle the Petersburgers. Zenit’s victory with a handicap (-4) looks good in this game.
